Quality Payment Program (QPP)
The Quality Payment Program (QPP) is for Medicare Part B clinicians. There are two tracks eligible clinicians (ECs) can follow:
- Advanced Alternative Payment Models (APMs)
- The Merit–based Incentive Payment System (MIPS)
For detailed information on the QPP please see CMS´s website: Quality Payment Program
Merit–based Incentive Payment System (MIPS)
MIPS is broken into three categories:
- Quality Measures
- Improvement Activities
- Advancing Care Information
The Advancing Care Information portion of MIPS replaced the Medicare EHR Incentive Program and reporting data to Public Health Registries can assist ECs in meeting that portion of the MIPS requirements. ECs may register their intent to report to the NYS Department of Health (NYSDOH) and NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH) sponsored registries via the Meaning Use Registration for Public Health (MURPH) application. Please see Public Health FAQ#2.12 for further details.
