What: The New York State Department of Health’s AIDS Institute will host the 20th Annual World AIDS Day Event on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, Empire State Plaza, Convention Center

In recognition of World AIDS Day observed on December 1, the AIDS Institute will host this annual event that invites the public to hear from panel experts, hear updates on New York’s efforts to End the Epidemic, visit HIV/STD community-based service organization exhibit booths and view the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt.

State Health Commissioner Dr. Howard A. Zucker will also recognize individuals at the Commissioner’s Special Recognition Awards beginning at 1:30 p.m. for their commitment, contribution, and response to improving and promoting the health and well-being of New Yorkers.

Additionally, the public is invited to visit HIV/STD community-based service organization exhibit booths and view the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt in the Convention Center beginning at 9 a.m.

The AIDS Institute will hold a two-day 2018 Ending the Epidemic Summit, which will include updates on statewide efforts to promote the “U=U” social media campaign, highlights of regional committee projects and a TED-Style Talk.
