NY State of Health Promotes Affordable Health Coverage at Museums

Spring Break Museum Campaign Features Certified Assistors On-Site

ALBANY, N.Y. (March 28, 2018) – NY State of Health, the state's official health plan Marketplace, today announced that certified assistors will be on-site at select museum locations across the state this April. Assistors will be available to talk with museum visitors about low-cost, quality health coverage.

"Many families visit museums during spring break, making them good locations to talk about health plans that are offered through the Marketplace," said NY State of Health Executive Director Donna Frescatore. "Anytime we can make access to health insurance information convenient, the easier it becomes for a consumer to enroll in a health plan that is right for their family."

April 4, 2018

  • Buffalo Museum of Science, 1020 Humboldt Parkway, Buffalo, 10am-12pm
  • Cradle of Aviation Museum, Charles Lindbergh Boulevard, Garden City, 10am-3pm

April 5, 2018

  • Long Island Children's Museum, 11 Davis Avenue, Garden City, 11am-2pm

April 6, 2018

  • Children's Museum of Science & Technology, 250 Jordan Road, Troy, 10am-12pm
  • Strong National Museum of Play, 1 Manhattan Square Drive, Rochester, 10am- 12pm
  • World Awareness Children's Museum, 89 Warren Street, Glens Falls, 10am-1pm

All health plans offered through NY State of Health cover preventive care, such as routine doctor visits and screenings, at no additional cost. Enrollment in Medicaid, Child Health Plus and the Essential Plan is open all year. While the 2018 Open Enrollment Period for Qualified Health Plans has ended, some consumers who have recently experienced a major life change may be eligible to enroll through a special enrollment period.
