Media Advisory - Three Fallen New York State Emergency Medical Services Providers to be Honored

What: A ceremony commemorating the lives of three fallen emergency medical services providers who died in the line of duty in 2016. The event will include EMS providers from across the state, as well as families and friends of the deceased. Speakers will include representatives from state government and the New York State EMS Council.

The Emergency Medical Service providers being honored this year are:

  • Norman Valle, 59, was a 23-year veteran of the Fire Department of New York City who died after battling leukemia caused by the weeks he spent at the World Trade Center in 2001.
  • Stephanie Potter, 48, the rescue chief at the Moira Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. Potter, who served with the Department for 24 years, passed away after responding to an EMS rescue call.
  • Larry Fuller, 55, was an EMT with Hunter Ambulance when he died in a car accident while on a call.
