Media Advisory: State Agency Leaders Join Rochester Mayor Warren and Local Officials to Kick off Spring Farmers’ Market Season and Promote Healthy Living during National Nutrition Month

March is commemorated every year as National Nutrition Month. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, adults in New York are including fruit in their diet only once a day and vegetables one to two times a day, while U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommend consuming five to nine servings of fruits and vegetables every day.

On Thursday, March 26, State and Local officials will be hosting a press conference at the Rochester Public Market to commemorate the beginning of spring farmers' market season here in New York. They will also highlight a number of new and existing state initiatives designed to encourage residents of Rochester and across the state to eat healthier.
