Media Advisory: State Health Department Marks National Patient Safety Awareness Week with Twitter Chat on Injection Safety

The New York State Department of Health (DOH), with the support of the New York One & Only Campaign will host a Twitter chat to discuss the importance of patient safety and safe injection practices in health care. Unsafe injections can expose patients to infections that are entirely preventable if health care providers simply follow proper procedure. Providers will be able to ask questions and get tips from experts to better engage patients to ask the right questions about their care.

The One & Only Campaign is a public health campaign, led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Safe Injection Practices Coalition (SIPC), to raise awareness among patients and healthcare providers about safe injection practices.
