Single Source Procurement: Restructuring and Reconfiguration of Cubical Areas

Pursuant to New York State Finance Law § 163.10(b), The New York State Department of Health is presenting the following summary of relevant circumstances, and material and substantial reasons why a competitive procurement was not feasible. Herman Miller furniture was installed originally at 90 Church Street back in 2005-2006 when the 90 Church Street lease opened. They won the original bid to be the furniture vendor. It was decided not to mix the original Herman Miller furniture with another type of furniture. Also, by working with Herman Miller, and the original designer, DOH and OMIG were able to use existing furniture and furniture pieces for different phases of this project and avoid buying all new workstations in some areas thereby saving the NY State money.
