Single Source Procurement: Hunger Prevention and Nutrition Assistance Program

Pursuant to New York State Finance Law § 163.10(b), The New York State Department of Health is presenting the following summary of relevant circumstances, and material and substantial reasons why a competitive procurement was not feasible. The New York State Department of Health, Hunger Prevention and Nutrition Assistance Program has made a determination to issue a Single Source Procurement to 10 eligible grantees to support ongoing currently funded projects.

The NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets are Hunger Prevention and Nutrition Assistance Program’s (HPNAP) partner in administering this initiative and provides a comprehensive list of NYS farms and producers that the food banks and their sub-awardees utilize to purchase food products. NYS food products purchased through the Nourish NY initiative are distributed to food insecure individuals through the emergency food programs across the state.
