Single Source Procurement: Investigator Initiated Research Projects (IIRP) and Innovative, Developmental or Exploratory Activities (IDEA) in Stem Cell Research (Rd 5)

Pursuant to New York State Finance Law § 163.10(b), The New York State Department of Health is presenting the following summary of relevant circumstances, and material and substantial reasons why a competitive procurement was not feasible. The New York State Department of Health Investigator Initiated Research Projects (IIRP) and Innovative, Developmental or Exploratory Activities (IDEA) in Stem Cell Research (Rd 5) Program has made a determination to issue a Single Source Procurement to one eligible grantees to support ongoing currently funded projects. The New York State Stem Cell Science (NYSTEM) program’s mission is to foster a strong stem cell research community in New York State and to accelerate the growth of scientific knowledge about stem cell biology and the development of therapies and diagnostic methods under the highest ethical, scientific, and medical standards for the purpose of alleviating disease and improving human health. This request is to complete a contract assignment and allow the State University of New York at Stony Brook, 100 Nicolls Rd, Stony Brook, NY 11794 as the single source for completion of the work outlined in contract number C32574GG, currently held with the State University of New York at Albany, 1400 Washington Ave, Albany, NY 12222.
