Single Source Procurement: Provider Education Program Clinical Guidelines Contract Extensions

Pursuant to New York State Finance Law § 163.10(b), The New York State Department of Health is presenting the following summary of relevant circumstances, and material and substantial reasons why a competitive procurement was not feasible. The New York State Department of Health, Provider Education Program Clinical Guidelines Program has made a determination to issue a Single Source Procurement to one eligible grantee to support ongoing currently funded projects.

Johns Hopkins University manages a Clinical Guidelines Program, which encompasses a wide range of professional processes and activities associated with the development, dissemination, implementation, and evaluation of clinical practice guidelines.

These guidelines address the medical management and treatment needs of adults and adolescents with HIV infection, HIV prevention, and hepatitis C treatment. In addition, this program produces guidelines on the specific issues that affect the health care requirements of patients with mental health needs and substance use behaviors, women with HIV infection, and oral health care.

This program supports clinicians who treat people with HIV infection as well as those involved in preventing HIV, and those who manage patients with viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections, LGBT health and the health of drug users.
