Single Source Procurement: Local Health Department (LHD) Education and Training

Pursuant to New York State Finance Law § 163.10(b), The New York State Department of Health is presenting the following summary of relevant circumstances, and material and substantial reasons why a competitive procurement was not feasible. The New York State Department of Health Office of Public Health Practice has made a determination to issue a Single Source Procurement to New York State Association of County Health Officials (NYSACHO) to support ongoing currently funded projects.

NYSACHO serves as a membership organization representing all 58 LHDs. It is the only organization which represents local public health agencies in New York State. NYSACHO is uniquely qualified to serve as a conduit for services and information between the New York State Department of Health and county health departments and has a proven track record of success in assisting NYSDOH. NYSACHO has been identified by the LHDs as t heir preferred representative and contact for discussions and collaborations with the Department. NYSDOH representatives routinely work with NYSACHO to both develop and implement important policies and interventions aimed at improving public health.
