Single Source Procurement: Interim Lead Safe Housing

Pursuant to New York State Finance Law § 163.10(b), The New York State Department of Health is presenting the following summary of relevant circumstances, and material and substantial reasons why a competitive procurement was not feasible.

The Bureau of Community Environmental Health and Food Protection (BCEH&FP) is tasked with the responsibility of overseeing and administering the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program throughout New York State. The BCEH&FP is requesting a one-year extension. This extension will allow the closing out of the two existing downstate Interim Lead Safe Housing (ILSH) Project contractors and allow sufficient time for program staff to work with New York City (NYC) entities to seek other cost-effective but occupant-safe means of providing temporary lead-safe housing services through existing NYC agencies.

Contractors were awarded contract(s) as a result of the competitive procurement process. This is an one year extension of the contract(s) under the same terms, conditions, and pricing authorized under the existing contract(s). The single source extension period will allow for the continuation of critical services.
