Essential Health Care Provider Support Program (EHCPSP)
The New York State Department of Health (DOH) announced the availability of $355 million under the Essential Health Care Provider Support Program (EHCPSP), as established pursuant to Section 2825-c of the Public Health Law (PHL). The EHCPSP provides funding to essential health care providers that supports debt retirement, capital projects or non-capital projects, for the purpose of facilitating their transformation through mergers, consolidation and restructuring activities intended to create financially sustainable systems of care.
Funds were made available through two Request for Applications (RFAs) to contribute to essential health care provider sustainability and to preserve essential health care services in the community:
- Through RFA # 1510160807, applications were awarded to essential health care providers that offer health care services within a defined geographic region where such services would otherwise be unavailable to the population of the region.
- Through RFA #1510190320, applications were awarded to essential health care providers that have demonstrated a commitment to establishing innovative models of health care delivery.
Awards were announced on March 4, 2016.
