Meningococcal Disease in Children's Camps

Meningococcal disease is a severe bacterial infection of the bloodstream or meninges (a thin lining covering the brain and spinal cord) caused by the meningococcus germ.

  • Templates - Section 7-2.8(a) of Subpart 7-2 of the State Sanitary Code requires overnight camps to provide parents/guardians of campers attending camp for seven or more consecutive nights with written information about meningococcal meningitis and with a copy of an immunization response form that has been approved by the State Commissioner of Health.
