The New York State Office of Mental Health promotes the mental health of all New Yorkers and provides hope and recovery for adults with serious mental disorders and children with serious emotional disturbances. It conducts public education and awareness campaigns and violence prevention initiatives. It also funds local governments to provide the full range of inpatient, outpatient, peer support and rehabilitation services.

Mental Health Association of New York State, Inc. (MHANYS)

MHANYS is a nonprofit organization with 30 local affiliate Mental Health Associations serving 54 counties in New York State. National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)

The NIMH is the lead federal agency for research on mental behaviors and disorders. Its mission is to reduce the burden of these conditions through research on mind, brain and behavior which will lead to better prevention and recovery from mental disorders. It provides information on mental disorders and lists clinical trials in progress.
