Matthew Marmor, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, Steuben County Public Health

  • 3 Years of Service

Steuben County Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, Matthew Marmor, has done an exceptional job in managing dozens of COVID-19 testing sites and scores of COVID-19 vaccination clinics. He is a one-man department of health, and with the assistance of Steuben County MRC volunteers he was able to amplify the impact of his work; planning, organizing, recruiting staff for, setting up, breaking down, and reporting data on vaccination clinics. His tireless efforts resulted in 18,893 COVID-19 vaccinations administered thus far, accounting for 33.7% of the county’s population. To better meet the needs of the community, Matthew never hesitated to schedule and manage evening and weekend clinics. Any time a new clinic was suggested, sometimes with very short notice, his consistent response was, “We will get it done.” His congenial “can-do” attitude has resonated deeply with local partners and the entire community. Simply put, Matthew Marmor has been essential to COVID-19 response in Steuben County.
