Welcome to the Department of Health's EMS on Tour Toolkit

Emergency Medical Services is essential to the health and wellness of every community. Despite this, many community members know very little about the true value and capabilities that their EMS system has to offer. Recognizing this, the NYS Bureau of EMS has developed some resources to help EMS agencies across the state raise awareness throughout their community.

The EMS on Tour Toolkit provides a roadmap, along with the tools necessary, to successfully invite your community to learn more about EMS and the wide capabilities and services your agency provides to your community every day. In addition to some suggested activities we have included several templates for you to use locally to promote your events.

"As a volunteer and career paramedic for the past 20 years, I know the satisfaction that comes from helping someone when they are most vulnerable and hurting. The EMS profession has grown tremendously since I first became an EMT. As the profession continues to grow, the opportunities available are endless. I truly believe EMS is at an exciting turning point, and there is a great need for our communities to know about our capabilities and to grow the number of EMS professionals throughout New York State. So, please consider helping others learn about EMS in your community by being a part of EMS on Tour."

Ryan Greenberg, Director, Bureau of EMS and Trauma
