Soil Vapor Intrusion Guidance: Response to Comments
Received on the February 2005 Public Comment Draft of the Guidance for Evaluating Soil Vapor Intrusion in the State of New York
In February 2005 the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) released the draft Guidance for Evaluating Soil Vapor Intrusion in the State of New York for public comment. The comment period ended in May 2005. Over 800 comments were received from 33 commenters, including consultants, community groups, private citizens, industry representatives, environmental groups and coalitions, and government groups.
All comments were compiled by topic and reviewed. Based on this review, the draft guidance was revised and finalized (see Final Guidance for Evaluating Soil Vapor Intrusion in the State of New York, October 2006). Furthermore, the NYSDOH, in consultation with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), prepared written responses to the comments received. The comments and responses are provided in the following complementary Response to Comments document, whose format generally mimics that of the guidance:
- Response to Comments (October 2006) (210pp., 2.9MB, PDF)
- Guidance for Evaluating Soil Vapor Intrusion (October 2006) (241pp., 21MB, PDF)
