Yellow Fever (jungle yellow fever, urban yellow fever)

Yellow fever is a disease caused by the bite of a mosquito infected with the yellow fever virus. The Aedes aegypti mosquito is most commonly associated with spreading yellow fever. These mosquitoes are usually found in tropical and subtropical areas where the disease occurs. Aedes aegypti mosquitoes are not found naturally in New York State.
