Ted Schiele, Planner/ Evaluator, Tompkins County Health Department

Ted Schiele joined Tompkins County Health Department's Health Promotion Program twelve years ago as the Planner/Evaluator in the Healthy Heart worksite grant. He brought with him marketing and graphic design skills that have helped to sell the "products" of healthy behavior and healthy communities to Tompkins County residents. As the Tobacco Control Program Coordinator, Ted collaborated with key stakeholders to promote tobacco free policies which were established in the City of Ithaca and Tompkins County government properties. The impact is significant. Ted developed the T-Free Zone – Tobacco Free Tompkins brand that is seen all over the County at schools, worksites, stores, health care facilities and community agencies. He is committed to supporting environmental and policy change through education, outreach and coalition building. Ted supports other Department programs through his expertise in advertising, graphic design, website support and data analysis.
