Associate Public Health Sanitarian Marianne Burdick has been with the Putnam County Department of Health for 24 years. She currently supervises many environmental health programs including Rabies and Children's Camps. Marianne has been instrumental in increasing public and professional awareness of rabies in our community. She is the "go-to" person for any issues regarding rabies… even handling the case of a rabid otter! Marianne provides important information and guidance to community residents who are often in crisis following a rabies exposure.

Marianne is also responsible for the supervision of the Children's camps program. She works tirelessly each camp season to insure a safe and enjoyable experience for all children attending camp in Putnam County. She works with camp staff, the NYSDOH and PCDOH nurses to coordinate a pre-camp annual seminar to educate all involved on current issues and lessons learned.

Marianne's extensive knowledge, professionalism and overall love of public health make her deserving of this special recognition.
