Greetings from the Director

Welcome!

The Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities Prevention (OMH-HDP) is New York State Department of Health's (NYSDOH) epicenter of minority health and health disparities prevention activities serving as a statewide resource for effecting the elimination of health disparities across all impacted populations.

Our mission is to ensure that everyone regardless of racial or ethnic background, or the community in which they live, has access to the resources and services they need to be healthy. To accomplish this, our efforts are aligned with NYSDOH's Prevention Agenda 2019-2024 for the Healthiest State, the National Partnership for Action and the Affordable Care Act all of which focus on improving health care quality and access, and take necessary actions to promote health equity and improve population health.

We hope you find our website a useful tool. It offers information about preventive health care, programs and services, as well as links to resources needed to pursue and achieve optimal health.

You are an important partner and by becoming informed and involved, you can help keep our communities and children safe and healthy.
